Programs and Services
The Gift of Motherhood online education program is an alternative to in-person classes. The classes contain the same content as the in-person program however a variety of learning tools are used in this e-book such as audio, videos and quizzes. This program is ideal for parents who are on bed rest, have scheduling conflicts, or just want a refresher course. Participants are encouraged to begin before their 20th week of pregnancy. The cost of this self-paced program is $30 and includes access to the online program for 6 months.
Prenatal breastfeeding classes are free of charge and are scheduled regularly throughout the year. The two hour evening class is taught by a lactation consultant and offers information about the benefits of breastfeeding, latching and positioning, infant feeding cues, how to know baby is feeding well, common challenges, and community supports. Partners are encouraged to attend as they will learn many ways to provide support to the breastfeeding mom and baby. These classes help families have a healthy pregnancy, a healthy birth experience, and a healthy baby. Classes are offered throughout the KFL&A area, during the evening and on weekends. Participants should start classes before the 20th week of pregnancy. The prenatal class outline
