This community-wide strategy continues to raise awareness of the benefits of physical activity and to help create and enhance opportunities that will enable people to be physically active on a regular basis.
Residents can talk to a public health nurse on issues related to getting and staying physically active through this phone line.
Rolling on the Runway aims to increase family and youth activity levels and to increase awareness of safe cycling and proper helmet use. This annual event is held in the spring at Kingston’s Norman Rogers Airport. Volunteers assist with traffic control and general safety patrol duties.
Participants are led by KFL&A Public Health volunteers on indoor walks during the winter months.
Kingston locations: INVISTA Centre, Memorial Centre, and LaSalle Secondary School
Napanee locations: Napanee District Secondary School
Inverary: Perth Road Public School
Wolfe Island: Sacred Heart School
The walks are held in partnership with the Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board, City of Kingston, Kingston Community Health Centres, and Limestone District School Board.
