Family Friendly Routine Immunization Clinics
KFL&A Public Health provides immunization for routine childhood and school vaccines at Family Immunization Clinics located at KFL&A Public Health’s main office at 221 Portsmouth Avenue in Kingston. In addition, these clinics also provide tetanus vaccine for adults. Please note that travel vaccines are not provided at these clinics. Special clinics are also held throughout the year at locations around the KFL&A area, by appointment, in Napanee, Sharbot Lake, and Cloyne. As of January 2012 appointments are necessary. KFL&A Public Health provides free influenza vaccine—the flu shot—to residents at community clinics across the KFL&A area. Check the Events Calendar for the date and location of the clinic near you.
General Immunization Information Line
KFL&A Public Health staff can answer your questions about immunization, specific vaccine information, immunization records and schedules, adverse reactions to immunization, and more. Childhood immunizations can also be reported to this line to keep your child’s record up-to-date. Callers should leave the child’s name, date of birth, health card number, the vaccines given, the date given, and a phone number. Doctors do not automatically send this information to KFL&A Public Health.
Immunization clinics are provided at KFL&A Public Health’s main office at 221 Portsmouth Avenue in Kingston. Appointments are necessary for the Wednesday evening clinic.
There will be no Wednesday evening Family Friendly Immunization Clinics in July. Please visit the Tuesday and Thursday morning Immunization Clinics for any immunization needs. The Wednesday evening clinics will resume beginning August 21, 2013.
As of January 1, 2013, KFL&A Public Health no longer provides TB skin testing clinics.

School-based Immunization Programs
KFL&A Public Health provides several school-based immunization clinics for publicly funded vaccines. Consent for these immunizations is required for any student to be immunized. Vaccine consent forms are sent home through your child`s school in early September. These are to be returned to the school prior to the immunization team’s first visit. Please see below for a description of programs KFL&A Public Health offers at clinics in area schools.
- Hepatitis B School Immunization Program
The Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care funds Hepatitis B immunization for students in Grade 7 or who are 12 years old. This is a series of two doses of 1.0 ml given at least 6 months apart. - HPV School Immunization Program
The Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care funds Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine for girls in Grade 8. This is a series of three doses given at 0, 2 months and 6 months. The HPV vaccine is available at cost to all other individuals 9 – 26 years old (both sexes) through KFL&A Public Health’s Immunization Clinics. The series of 3 costs $450 or $150 per dose. - Meningococcal School Immunization Program
As of 2009, The Ministry of Health and Long-term Care funds Meningococcal A, C, Y, W-135 immunization for students in Grade 7. Students who were in school prior to 2009 can still receive Meningococcal C immunization through the publicly funded program up to 19 years of age. These are both given as one dose of 0.5ml.
- Vaccine orders for Kingston area of KFL&A, please complete a Vaccine Order Form and fax to KFL&A Public Health by 12 noon on Tuesdays.
Vaccines can be picked up Thursday mornings between 8:30 am and 12 noon.
- Vaccine orders for Napanee and north of Napanee, please complete a Vaccine Order Form and fax to KFL&A Public Health by 12 noon on Thursdays.
Vaccines will be available for your pick up on the following Monday after 1 pm at the Napanee Branch office.
